Mickey Mouse, Jerry Mathers Named Parade Marshals
Deadline for Entries is Sept. 14th
This year's parade theme is "Fabulous Fifty," so grab all your friends and join the world's most beloved pal, Mickey Mouse, as he comes from the Disneyland® Resort to serve as Grand Marshal for the huge celebration of Bellflower's 50th Anniversary Liberty Day Parade. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13th at 10:00 a.m.
Joining Mickey Mouse at the event will be Celebrity Parade Marshal Jerry Mathers. Jerry, who is TV's Original "Beaver" in Leave it to Beaver, entered the hearts and homes of America in 1957. The popular show ran for six seasons and is currently being shown on TV Land in the United States and in countries throughout the world. In October, the series will also celebrate its 50th Anniversary.
Don't miss out on the fun. The City of Bellflower is still accepting parade entries for floats, bands, equestrian entries, marching units and antique custom cars. You must submit entries by Friday, Sept. 14th. Groups, individuals, organizations, churches, military organizations and businesses are invited to participate. This year the parade will travel a mile-long route north along Bellflower Boulevard.
Although it is free to participate in the parade, all participants must fill out an official parade entry form and return it to Pageantry Productions by Sept. 14th. Entry applications are now available at Bellflower City Hall, local parks, online at the City’s website (www.bellflower.org) or by calling Pageantry Productions at (310) 537-4240.
