Bellflower Earth Day Celebrates Environment
Saturday, April 22nd at Simms Park
Earth Day will be held Saturday, April 22nd, and community members are invited to learn tips to help eliminate pollution and improve the environment. Bellflower's annual Earth Day Celebration takes place at Simms Park, 16614 S. Clark Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is free and open to all.
At least eight exhibitors will be on hand to provide information and handouts about household hazardous waste collection events, used oil recycling, energy conservation, storm water pollution prevention and more. The exhibitors will provide free promotion materials and conduct free giveaways, including oil recycling containers. Crafts using recycled materials will be displayed along with a new Honda hybrid vehicle and a new trash truck. The City will also display recycling bins to help familiarize residents with proper disposal methods.
Exhibitors will show videos and talk about how residents can help clean up and protect the environment. Information about new laws pertaining to electronic waste, and methods for properly disposing e-waste and products like household batteries, will also be highlighted.
