Learn what you can do to help take better care of our planet at the City of Bellflower's 6th Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Simms Park. The event is free and open to the public. Environmental exhibitors will be on hand to provide information and handouts about recycling, household hazardous waste, used oil recycling, water and energy conservation and other ways you can help keep the environment clean. Exhibitors will provide free promotional materials, perform demonstrations, display exhibits and conduct free giveaways, including used oil recycling kits and tree seedlings. Several vehicles will also be on display, including a new Honda Hybrid, a natural gas powered pickup truck and an alternative fuel trash truck. Prior to the event, CR&R, the City's waste hauler, will be giving away two free bags of mulch to all Bellflower residents from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. You must present your coupon that was distributed in CR&R's March 1st billing to receive the mulch.
