Charles Phoenix Celebrates Bellflower's Birthday with a Special Slide Show on Sunday, August 6th

Do you like to flip through old photos and reminisce about the “good ol’ days?”

If so, the City of Bellflower’s Economic Development Department has a show for you!  In honor of Bellflower’s 60th birthday, Charles Phoenix is coming to town to host the Big Retro Southern California Slide Show on Sunday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bristol Civic Auditorium at City Hall (16600 Civic Center Drive, Bellflower, CA). Tickets are now on sale for a special “incorporation” price of $19.57 per person. Tickets can be purchased at 

Charles Phoenix is named the Ambassador of Americana and is a celebrity showman, tour guide, food crafter, and author known for his live comedy slide show performances, eye-popping “test kitchen” videos, fun-filled “field trip” tours, and colorful coffee table books. Phoenix is best known for celebrating all American things classic and kitschy.

To compliment the show, the City would like to offer attendees a special dining discount at local restaurants. Economic Development staff is currently seeking restaurant owners and operators interested in participating in the promotional program. This program provides an opportunity for restaurants to show off their best entrées and attract new customers.

The City will offer to all participating restaurants: video and photography of your restaurant’s interior, exterior, menu items and logo to be featured in a promotional video on the City’s  website ( and YouTube page. The video will also feature Charles Phoenix and will air prior to the movie at three (3) Food, Flicks & Fun events. 

In return, attendees may present their ticket stub one of the participating restaurants to receive a “Buy One, Get One 50% off (of equal or lesser value)” dining discount through August 20, 2017.
