Apply for Bellflower Connect's FREE In-Home Unit

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen technical and supply-chain challenges, the roll-out of Phase 1 of Bellflower Connect and the disbursement of in-home units has been delayed. The City and it’s wireless contractor are addressing these challenges, and the network is scheduled to go live in mid-late spring, with the delivery of in-home units to follow shortly thereafter. Thank you for your patience and being part of the Bellflower Connect community.

Bellflower Connect is low or no cost option providing digital connection to residents, businesses and visitors in Bellflower.  The program provides voluntary wireless (wi-fi) internet connection in many public spaces throughout the City an option for in home connection, should residents choose to participate. The City is working with Tradewinds Networks (formerly the city worked with ICCN) to install the network at no cost to the City.

The installation process will happen in four (4) phases over the span of 18-24 months. Phase 1 is underway with the installation of the first wireless solar tower in Downtown Bellflower and the network will then be available in surrounding neighborhoods.

The City also plans to offer free in-home, broadband access modems to eligible households in Bellflower. These modems will amplify the outdoor wireless signal from the network into a home – giving eligible households a free, high-speed internet connection at no additional cost. The City is now accepting applications from residents living in Phase 1, estimated to receive in-home units in Spring 2024. The City will also accept applications from Phase 2, TBD when in-home units will ship.
