Business License Renewal

New businesses are processed by the Planning Department.  
                     
Business licenses are renewed annually on the anniversary date. Businesses are licensed and renewed at varying fixed or gross receipts based tax rates. Many businesses are licensed at an annual tax rate of $214 plus $3 per employee. Residential rental properties are licensed at $13 per unit. The business license tax rates are generally adjusted annually on July 1st based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index.

RENEW YOUR BUSINESS LICENSE ONLINE!

To conveniently renew your business license online, all you need is a credit card, debit card, or your checking account information and your business license renewal notice (required PIN located at the lower right hand corner of the renewal notice). Please click on the Renew Business License button below and follow the instructions to pay for your business license online. There is no fee associated with your payment with a checking account (e-check).  If paid with a credit or debit card, the convenience fee is 2.9% of the total amount due and charged, with a minimum fee of $2.00.

If you decide not to pay your business license tax online, please mail your completed renewal form and a check on or before the due date to:

To properly complete your renewal form and calculate the business license tax due, please follow the steps below:

  1. Review your renewal notice for accuracy and update any new information directly on the form. Please provide your email address, as email renewal notices are available!
  2. Renewal Message and Tax/Fee Calculations – Please review the instructions provided in the renewal message section and complete the blank parts that are required for your business tax/fee calculation.  After that, calculate the tax and fees at the lower right hand side of the renewal notice.
  3. Balance Due – Add up all the calculated tax and fees.
  4. Sign and date the renewal notice and return it with your payment.  Please make your check payable to the “City of Bellflower”.
