Caltrans to Fully Close Ramps on SR-91 in Bellflower for Construction Activities
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced plans to fully close ramps on State Route 91 (SR-91) overnight in the city of Bellflower this week for a construction project.
The following closures will be in place between:
Monday, March 2 to Tuesday, March 3 - Full Closure of Downey Ave. on-ramp from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Tuesday, March 3 to Wednesday, April 8 - Downey Ave. on-ramp will be reduced to one lane.
Monday, March 2 to Tuesday, March 3 - Full Closure of Clark Ave. off-ramp from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Tuesday, March 3 to Friday, April 10 - Clark Ave. off-ramp will be reduced to one lane.
Some closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.
The work on SR-91 is part of a roadside safety improvement project to minimize highway worker exposure to traffic by providing safer access to the freeway. The works includes the construction of Maintenance Vehicle Pullouts (MVPs), improvements to irrigation systems, and installation of fences.
Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
